Screenings and Testing
The Clark County Health Department provides various screenings and testings for the residents of Clark County.
Blood Pressure Screening
A blood pressure reading has two numbers. The top number is the pressure when your heart pumps blood. It is called Systolic Pressure. The bottom number is the pressure between pumps. It is called Diastolic Pressure. Your blood pressure is considered high if: The top number is 140 or more, and/or the bottom number is 90 or more.
We provide "free" blood pressure screening from 8:00am until 4:00pm, Monday through Friday, and no appointment is necessary, walk-ins welcome.

Diabetes Screening
Diabetes means that your blood glucose (sugar) is too high. Over time, too much glucose can lead to problems with your eyes, kidneys, heart, nerves, feet and teeth. Diabetes is a serious condition, but it can be managed.
The Clark County Health Department provides diabetes screening through a finger stick test. The cost of the test is $3.00 and is done by appointment, from 8:00am to 9:30am, Monday through Friday. Call our office to schedule an appointment.
We can also perform diabetes screening through a blood draw; however, we require a prescription from your doctor. Call our office to schedule an appointment.

Cholesterol Screening
The Clark County Health Department provides cholesterol screening through a finger stick test, and no doctor's prescription is required. The cost for the finger stick test is $15.00 (this procedure includes the diabetes screening). We also provide cholesterol screening through a blood draw; however, a doctor's prescription is required. Screenings are done by appointment, from 8:00am to 9:30am, Monday through Friday. Lead Screening
Lead poisoning happens when a person breathes lead dust or eats something with lead in it.
The Clark County Health Department provides Lead Screening for children and adults through a finger stick test. The cost for the screening is $11.00, and is done by appointment, from 8:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Call our office to schedule an appointment.

Pregnancy Test
The Clark County Health Department provides a pregnancy test and the cost is $10.00. We also accept Illinois All Kids as payment for the pregnancy test. An appointment is recommended. Simply call our office to schedule an appointment.
